Troubleshooting: Common Issues & Solutions

Run into a snag? Find quick solutions for common issues related to login, custom domains, payments, and the editor.

We strive to make Postion as bug-free as possible, but sometimes things happen. Here are solutions to the most common issues our creators encounter.

🔑 Account & Login

I can't log in to my account.

  • Check your email: Ensure you are using the exact email address you signed up with.
  • Magic Link: Postion uses passwordless login (Magic Links) for security. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within 2 minutes.
  • Expired Link: Magic links expire after 15 minutes. If yours has expired, simply request a new one on the login page.

🌐 Custom Domains

My custom domain isn't working.

  • Propagation Time: DNS changes can take up to 24-48 hours to propagate globally, though it usually happens within minutes.
  • CNAME Record: Ensure you have added the correct CNAME record pointing to cname.postion.app (or the specific target provided in your dashboard).
  • Remove A Records: If you are using a root domain (e.g., example.com), make sure you don't have conflicting "A Records" pointing to old servers.
  • Cloudflare Proxy: If you manage your DNS on Cloudflare, try turning OFF the orange "Proxy" cloud icon for the CNAME record during the initial verification.

💳 Payments & Stripe

I can't connect my Stripe account.

  • Browser Extensions: Ad blockers or privacy extensions can sometimes interfere with the Stripe pop-up. Try disabling them or using Incognito/Private mode.
  • Country Support: Ensure your country is supported by Stripe.
  • Business Details: Stripe requires valid business or individual details. Ensure all fields in the Stripe onboarding form are filled out correctly.

A subscriber's payment failed.

  • Retries: Stripe automatically retries failed payments (usually 3-4 times) over a few days.
  • Card Issues: The most common cause is an expired card or insufficient funds on the subscriber's end. Postion automatically emails the subscriber prompting them to update their payment method.

✍️ Editor & Images

My images aren't uploading.

  • File Size: The maximum file size for images is 5MB. Try compressing your image using a tool like TinyPNG.
  • File Type: We support .jpg, .png, .gif, and .webp. Other formats may not work.
  • Connection: A weak internet connection can cause uploads to time out.

The editor is acting strange / formatting is broken.

  • Refresh: A simple page refresh often fixes temporary glitches. Your draft is auto-saved locally.
  • Clear Cache: Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies.
